FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Charlie Arehart named Co-technical Editor of CFDJ Magazine Laurel, MD - July 9, 2002 SysteManage is proud to announce that their founder and CTO, Charlie Arehart, has been named to co-technical editor of the ColdFusion Developers Journal, the largest-circulation print magazine in the ColdFusion web application development industry. He and fellow editor Ray Camden will begin reviewing articles prior to publication starting with the September issue. "Ray and I have both been pushing for the magazine to have an editor for some time. Someone might say it's one of those situations where 'you should be careful what you wish for'," he quipped. He added, "I'm really looking forward to this opportunity. With the CFDJ being such a prominent provider of information and techniques for the CF community, it's critical that every article in every issue be as technically accurate as possible." "I've certainly made mistakes myself among the nearly 30 articles I've contributed in the past 2 years, and while the editors and reviewers there do catch some things, there focus is mainly on style and content, rather than technical accuracy, " he noted. "Indeed, even some other frequent contributors have let slip something that other experienced developers might challenge. This is more an opportunity for peer review, if anything, though admittedly on a limited scale. Given the production time pressures for the magazine, it's just not possible to open the review process to a large community of reviewers, as beneficial as that may be."
